FAQ
At Kookla Soap Co, we believe in the magic of handcrafted artisan soaps! Each product is lovingly made with pure, natural ingredients that not only cleanse but also nourish your skin. Experience the difference that passion and care can make!
What does "all-natural soap" mean?
Our definition of "natural" means that all ingredients used come from plants, vegetables, minerals, or safe animal byproducts (like honey), with no artificially manipulated or nature-identical compounds. We use whole plant-based oils and avoid synthetic fragrances, dyes, or preservatives.
Are all your soaps vegan?
The majority of our products are vegan, made from plant-based oils. However, some specific products may contain ingredients like honey, or beeswax. Each product page lists a complete ingredient list for your reference.
Do you use lye to make your soap?
Yes, all true soap is made using lye through a process called saponification, which transforms oils and fats into soap. Once the process is complete, there is no lye left in the final product. No lye no soap
Do you use essential oils or fragrance oils?
We exclusively use pure essential oils or organic herbs and plant-derived products for scent and color. We do not use synthetic fragrance oils.
Are your products tested on animals?
Absolutely not. We are a cruelty-free company and have never, and will never, test on animals.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
While our products are made with low concentrations of essential oils and are generally considered safe, we recommend consulting a health professional before using any new product while pregnant or breastfeeding, as skin sensitivities can change.
Are your products biodegradable and safe for septic tanks/natural waterways?
Yes, all of our ingredients are biodegradable and safe for the environment and septic systems.
Usage & Storage
How should I store my handmade soap to make it last longer?
Handmade soap is high in natural glycerin, which draws water to itself. To ensure your bar lasts, keep it in a Kookla draining soap dish or a hanging sisal soap saver bag and allow it to dry completely between uses. Do not leave it sitting in standing water.
How long does a bar of soap last?
On average, with daily use and proper care, our soap bars can last 2-3 weeks. This can vary depending on usage frequency and water type
What is the shelf life of your soaps?
Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, our bar soaps typically have a shelf life of 1 year.
